Music Without Borders
Major Wolf has never been particularly good at staying in one place.
A traveller, storyteller and former Viking ship captain, he's spent much of his life chasing horizons, navigating unfamiliar waters and occasionally questioning the wisdom of whoever happens to be holding the wheel.
With roots in Scandinavia and a home in Australia, Major Wolf brings Nordic sensibilities, Australian irreverence and a lifelong fascination with reggae to his music.
His sound moves between heavyweight roots reggae, soulful lovers rock, dub, blues and ska. Sometimes mischievous, occasionally confrontational and often deeply personal, his songs explore the things that matter: humanity, love, family, injustice and the absurdities of modern life.
From the Himalayan mountains to the streets of Melbourne, his music reflects a life spent encountering different people, cultures and perspectives.
Expect rolling basslines, sharp humour, unexpected tenderness and the occasional blast of ice-cold water in the face from the westerlies.
Major Wolf isn't interested in staying within one musical or geographical border.
There's always another horizon.
